Black Is… Black Ain’t [Group Show]
Black Is… Black Ain’t [Group Show]
“The most definitive identity any black person has is blackness.”
Inspired by the 1994 film by activist and scholar Marlon Riggs, Black Is, Black Ain't is a group show and collective imagining of Black identity that embraces its intersectional nature, celebrates its diversity, and insists on self-defined legitimacy.
This exhibition showcases Black art from some of POT’s staff, community members and favorite artists to add to the living, breathing web of Blackness, which spans generations and geographies.
