Tatreez: Palestinian Embroidery

Tatreez: Palestinian Embroidery

This workshop is part of POT's mission to preserve culture through craft

This workshop will include an exploration of the history of Palestinian embroidery and its importance in Palestinian culture. Students will learn the basics of stitching and start stitching a Palestinian tatreez pattern created specifically for the workshop. Taught by Jenna Aliya Hanson.

Jenna is a textile artist based in Los Angeles residing on stolen Tongva land. A descendant of Nakba survivors, Jenna aims to connect with her heritage by practicing the art of Palestinian tatreez.

This workshop is meant for people who are interested in learning and understanding an aspect of Palestinian culture. All skill-levels of embroiderers are welcome.

This is NOT a pottery workshop. This is an embroidery workshop, students take home their work on the same day.
