Wheel 1 Extendo [Echo Park - 6 weeks]
Wheel 1 Extendo [Echo Park - 6 weeks]
Extended Wheel Throwing for beginners at POT in Echo Park - 6-week series.
In this 6-week series designed for beginners, we'll take you step-by-step through the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Dive deeper with focused instruction on every part of the wheel throwing process, as well as more time to practice.
This series offers more instruction, more practice time, and more pieces to take home. For those who want to learn how to throw independently or be a member one day. You'll even make a cup and bowl set to keep at the end!
No experience required. For ages 16+. All materials, firing and glazing included to take home pieces.
Each class is 2 hours. We encourage you to make it to every class as they build on each other. We recommend students who take this class to jump into Wheel 3 afterwards.
POT - Echo Park: 1933 Echo Park Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90026
I went into this with zero knowledge of ceramics, and Ollin, our instructor, did a great job at explaining everything and giving you a good rundown. I highly suggest the Wheel one 6 weeks course because it allowed for extra throwing practice. Don’t go into this expecting you’ll leave a pro (hey who knows your natural skill and talent, so maybe!) but know it is a great starting point into the world of pottery and discovering if ceramics is worth pursuing! I will definitely be taking more classes at POT :)
I have really enjoyed this class - signing up for Wheel 2 soon!
From the very first day, I felt like I'd found a creative home at POT. Ollin is an incredible (and incredibly patient) instructor, who taught us technique while also encouraging us to push our limits to begin learning how to work with the clay. I left the experience with a bittersweet feeling - sad that the course was over, but excited for the happiness and curiosity it sparked. I'll be back, POT!
