Drop-In Wheel Throwing: [Mid-City]
Drop-In Wheel Throwing: [Mid-City]
This is a one-time, 2-hour beginners wheel throwing class.
Learn how to make a piece on the potters wheel (aka wheel throwing) as one of our friendly instructors takes you step-by-step through the basics. These classes are a great low-commitment way to try pottery for the first time. Zero experience required, designed for total beginners.
It takes multiple classes to trim, glaze, and finish a piece - so keeping a piece is not included. If you'd like to keep a piece, we can glaze it black and fire it for you for an additional fee.
For ages 16+. All materials included. BYOB welcome.
Payment plans available
Hosted at POT Gardens: 3228 W Jefferson Blvd, 90018
We booked this class as an anniversary gift to ourselves and I must say we thoroughly enjoyed it. The instructor was very calm, patient and friendly. The class was very beginner friendly and the vibe was fun and pleasant. It was extremely satisfying to finally get a semblance of a piece after many failed attempts and the best part was everyone moved at their own pace. We were encouraged to do as many as we could in the given time frame and in the end it felt like we could sit there and do this for hours.
My teenage daughter and I did this class together and really enjoyed it. I haven’t touched clay since maybe preschool—the teacher did a wonderful job guiding us through the whole process, and was warm and friendly. I can understand why wheel throwing can be so zen! I will definitely come back again.
Great time first time throwing. Relaxed pace and easy to make mistakes and try again. Great teacher.
