Persian Pickling [Torshi]

Persian Pickling [Torshi]

POT aims to highlight and preserve Iranian & MENA cultures through arts and crafts.  This beginners pickling workshop is in celebration of Norouz, the Iranian New Year. No need to speak Farsi, all are welcome!

Persian Pickling is a 3-hour workshop led by Yara Community Project where you will be making pickles, Persian style. Learn the essentials of pickling and then additional methods and recipes for pickling in the style of Iranian cuisine, or "torshi."

Pickles are a big part of Iranian food culture and we love to share the artform with you! All vegetables, jars and materials will be provided.

Yara Community Project is led by Roya Aghavali and Delaram Ahmady. Their mission is to create space for Iranian-Americans and the greater SWANA community, building bridges and providing cross-cultural competence through programming, in hopes of creating a space we never had and/or always longed for as Iranian-Americans.

For ages 10+. Ages 10-15 required to sign up with an adult. All materials provided. No experience required.
